The main bus station starts its operations from 5 am.

Another Bus station is situated near the Chittorappan Temple. The island has several Taxis and Autorikshaw stations. The island market is situated near the boat jetty. You can buy Fish and Vegetables everyday. Several restaurants operates near the Boat jetty. Prices are cheap and reasonable. The island play ground is situated near the boat jetty. Mornings and Evenings will be busy and noisy.

The SBOA Higher Secondary school is situated near Chittoorappan Temple. More than 2000 students study in SBA. Apart from Aster Medicity , the island is home to State run Allopathic and Ayurveda dispensaries. South Chittoor had several rice fields and the island was connected with boat service.

A special Type of rice cultivation was practiced in South Chittoor. Now the rice fields are used for Fish farming. Duck farming is also common among people in South Chittoor. Several local people owns Chinese Fishing Nets for catching fish from the river.
